Robert Hanson White

Robert Hanson White, age 78, of Bladenboro/Whiteville, met his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Columbus Regional Healthcare with his family by his side. Robert was born September 13, 1943 to Vivian Thompson White and the late Willard Hanson White.  In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother; Charles White and his sister; Patricia W. McPherson.

He worked as a machinist with Georgia Pacific for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography and camping.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Ruth Sasser Ransom White, his mother; Vivian Thompson Johnson (Bob) of Whiteville, a son; Robert Hanson White Jr. (Roberta) of Holly Springs, NC, a daughter; Debbie White Armstrong (Willy) of Summerville, SC, three granddaughters; Samantha White Sahlback, Abigail White John, and Danielle Armstrong, a great granddaughter; Addison John, a sister; Phyllis White Cron (Frank) of Whiteville, a step daughter; Kim Watson of Whiteville and a step granddaughter; Olivia-Faith Watson.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Oak Dale Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Conner officiating.  Burial will follow in Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 7:00- 9:00 pm Thursday, July 28, 2022 at McKenzie Mortuary, Whiteville, NC.
