Ray Earl Tedder

Ray Earl Tedder, age 85, passed away peacfully Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Premier Living and Rehab, Lake Waccamaw, NC.  Ray was born in Columbus County on September 12, 1938 to the late John Arthur Tedder and Mortie Lee Reynolds Tedder.  In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his wife; Alice Elizabeth Ward Tedder and several brothers and sisters.

Ray graduated from Hallsboro High School in 1957 and served 3 years in the United States Army, stationed in Germany.  He later married his wife of 56 years, Alice. Ray was a pipe fitter with International Paper in Riegelwood and a member of Hallsboro Baptist Church, Hallsboro, NC.

Ray had a great love for his family.  He was most happy if he was working, gardening, hunting or fishing.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters; Bregetta T. Boney of Raleigh, NC and Rhonda T. Terhune (Larry) of Fuquay Varina, NC, his son; Michael Ray Tedder (Liz) of Hallsboro, his sister; Marie T. Formyduval, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Don Covil officiating.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lake Waccamaw, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm prior to the service.
