Lake Waccamaw: Maryann Margaret (Nancy) Straussner Wilson 68 of Lake Waccamaw died Friday July 21, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Whiteville. She was born in Queens, New York, daughter of the late Thomas Francis Straussner and Mary Patrica Curry.
Nancy was a member of the Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church and was a YAYA’s Member- Shriners Hillbilly Unit. She worked as a Secretary over 40 years and enjoyed anything to do with the lake at least when it involved her Family which she centered her whole life around.
Survivors include her Husband Rodney E. Wilson of Lake Waccamaw; Sons, Rodney E. Wilson Jr (Sheila), Matthew E. Wilson (Tori), of Lake Waccamaw ,NC, Thomas J. Wilson (Caroline) of Hallsboro, NC; Brothers, James L. Straussner (Nancy) of Spring Hill, FL, Thomas A. Straussner (Heidi) of Oceanside, CA, Joseph P. Straussner of Lake Waccamaw, NC; Grandchildren, Harper Wilson, Brynnan Wilson, Drayton Wilson, Katie Wilson, Kinsley Wilson, Lakyn Wilson; Special Cousin , Regina Ann Demitrack: Several Special Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. with burial following in the  Hillcrest Cemetery .
Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to service.
Active Pallbearers: Brent Pait, Glenn McPherson, Lynn Hinnant, Kendall Powell, Kelly Huffman . Justin Powell, Allen Powell and Joe Wilson,III.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Columbus County Shrine Club, P.O. Box 2093, and Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC  28472.

My heart breaks for the loss of this wonderful lady. The love she showed for those around her was truly a blessing to witness. Especially for her family. Her beautiful face and smile will forever be remembered. I feel honored to have called her my friend. I love all you guys. May God Bless you through this difficult time. Rest In Peace my friend.

Our thoughts are with Matt, TJ, Rodney and Rodney Sr during this time. Our family has great memories of Mrs. Wilson and your entire family. Her loss is mourned and and she will be fondly remembered.
