Whiteville: MC-USN (SS)  John J. Norosky, 78 of Whiteville died Wednesday, June 21,2017 at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. He was the son of the late Frank Stanley Norosky and Nellie  Chesunas Norosky and was preceded in death by a brother, Frank C.  Norosky.  
He served in the U.S. Navy  for over thirty years and retired as  Master Chief  and was a High School Teacher for over  20 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a Mason (Lebanon Lodge 207) , Shriner, York Rite,Scottish Rite, Sojourners, Sunday School Teacher, and Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Huggins Norosky of the home. Sons; F. John Franklin Norosky of Groton, Conn., Glenn David Norosky of Belpre, Ohio and Walter Stanley Norosky of Santa Rosa , Calif., sisters; Victoria N. Harrah of Oak Hill., WV , Aleta  N. Hoffman of Lancaster, Va. and Dina N. Boggs of Oak Hill, WV, One brother,  David C. Norosky of Oak Hill, WV, Four Grandchildren and  Three Great-Grandchildren.  Daisy Norosky , Special Hunting Companion.

Funeral Service will be Saturday  June ,24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Clore officiating with burial following in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be in the Church Fellowship Hall  from 12:00 - 12:45  on Saturday prior to the Service.

So saddened by the news of JJ's passing. I've known JJ or at least known of him my entire Adult life. He could always be counted on to share Sea Stories (sometimes more than once) with young and old. He will be truly missed by all of us Fair Winds and Following Seas my friend. My heart aches today.
